After 12,000 KM it's time to stop in Cloncurry en route to Karumba for a new set of rear tyres.

This is the main Savanah Highway!.

There are 30 / 40 Km stretches where the tarmac is single lane.. To pass another car coming the opposite direction you move left onto the gravel and leave your right two wheels on the tarmac.

Totally safe then!!!

Termite mounds by the side of the road. They stretch for miles.

This is Khrys the largest saltwater croc (check the guiness book of records). Caught by a lady in the 1950,s in Normanton.

8.63 meters long or over 28 ft!!!!!!!!!

Down the street from Khrys is the famous Purple Pub. Know idea why it's famous, but we can vouch that it is very purple.

Karen's mum helps Jack with his life jacket for the 1st fishing trip.

Hang on to your hat as we set off.

Speeding up the Norman river to the fishing grounds.

OK were all ready.  Don't really know what Jacks hand gesture is?.

Andrew play's a fish.

At last , this is more like it.

A 'Jewel'.

Next day a couple of 'Grunters'.

Jack has an ice cream sundae in the Sunset Tavern.

We spotted this fellow on the river bank on our 8km walk.

Andrew monkeying around with Jack by the edge of the river.

The bay of Carpentaria.

Now this is a neat idea. The holiday park has 'Christmas in July', complete with full Christmas dinner and presents.

Karen's Mum and Dad get there presents from Santa and Mary Christmas.

A selfie kiss.

Note Bear Gryll's T Shirt now some decent fish have been landed!

And the Moon.

So it's Jacks birthday, 30th July.

Spiderman in Crocs.

The main event, Jack with his new bike.

All the hours spent on the balance bike in Qatar play off as within 5 minutes he's off riding.

Another superhero costtume for Jack.

Jack plays with the balloons and dons a hat getting ready for the party.

It's party time. This has got to be a 1st, a kids brthday party with adults only!!

Jack blows out his 4 candles.

Cutting the cake.

So after 2 weeks in Karumba it's farewell to Karens Mum and Dad and off back across the Savanah Way to the East coast.
