Andrew had some work to do on the van and the temperature (Winter) is 36 degrees C so he needed shade. The only thing we could do was book into a cabin with a carport for a few days's.

The Thursday night market in Darwin draws huge crowds eager to sample the array of street food and entertainment and to take in the sunset.

The Aviation Museum houses a B52 bomber which was de-commissioned as part of the nuclear treaty with Russia. It takes up the whole hanger so is hard to photograph.

 

Andrew managed to convince Jack this plane was off the 'Planes' movie.

Now normally you wouldn't think about posting pictures of food but when you have been on the road over 4 months the chance to cook something other than sausages means the earth.

 

Herb crusted Spanish Mackerel (caught in Karumba) and homemade 'Slaw'.

There are 161 steps up to Catherines Gorge.

 

We did it in the midday sun in a temperature of 38 degrees C.

 

Was it worth it................no way.

In the blink of an eye (1872 km) we leave the Northern Territory and are welcomed to Western Australia.

 

Just after the pic was taken we pulled up at the quarrentine control stop and had to bin all our fresh food including apples, potatoes and onions!

 

Luckily this doesn't apply to alcohol because there are restrictions on the purchase of this too!!

You see a lot of weird and wonderful rigs travelling around Aus but this one was special.

 

It's a 1957 Ansair Flxible Clipper of which there were only 131 made.

 

People were even takig more photgraphs of it than Olive.

An overnight stop at Lake Argyll which was stunning, made all the better by an infinity pool.

We finally make it to Broome and enjoy civilisation again after a difficult couple of weeks.

The sun comes down on Cable Beach and our time in Broome.

 

With the temperature and humidty starting to build in Broome before the wet season starts we head South towards Perth which is only 2200 km away!!

I Love Broome from Cable Beach.

 

Cable Beach in Broome is not only one of the most beautiful in Aus but it is also a nudist beach!!

 

So 'When In Broome Do As The Broomans Do'.

 

Just our luck there was someone on the beach throwing Japanese fighting stars just as we took the shot!!!!!
