Canberra

After leaving the rains of Nowra we headed inland to Canberra to see the sights.

No trip to Canberra would be complete without stopping at Goulburn to see the big Merino.

We set up camp in Canberra at the EPIC showground. Before we left on the trip Andrew cut some sheets of plywood in case we decided to use the 'upstairs' bedroom. By the time we got to Canberra Jack had made it his boy cave.

First stop in Canberra was the war memorial. The memorial and associated museum track all the wars and conflicts Australia have been engaged in. With this year being the 100 year ANZAC commemeration and Gallipoli landings the visit was extra special.

View from the War Memorial to the New Parliament.

Jack and Karen dressing up in the old parliament building. Hello Sailor and Order.

Jack in the Old Parliament Senate.

Autumn in Canberra.

In the Museum.........Karen and Jack getting in touch with their heritage!!!!!

Karen's Mum and Dad joined us for a night in Canberra on their way to Karumba. Jack loved having his Nanna and Pa there.........And we loved it because they brought us much needed rations..well we are on a budget!!

We were sited next to a converted bus at EPIC and having sown a few seeds about the Italian Job (which we had watched at least half a dozen times before we set off on the trip) Andrew couldn't convince Jack that there weren't 3 Mini Coopers inside.

Carole and Dennis from Bundaberg., our 1st friends made on the trip. Thanks for taking us in and giving us some welcome 'space' in the caravan over happy hour

After 4 days in Canberra we are going to track back down to the coast going over the Jamberoo Pass, picking up where we left off at Kiama and then up the coast to Sydney...........See You There.
