Time for a selfie.

.

Again the pictures really dont do the sunset justice.

.

We were keen to visit Fraser Island which is the largest sand island in the world and home to the purest Dingo,s in Australia.

Unfortunately you are only alowed to take 4x4s over to camp and so we had to leave the campervan van behind and book into a resort for a few days. Are well never mind!!!

45 minute ferry journey to the Island.

.

There was no persuading Jack to walk the 200 metres to the resort on the Island when theres a train to take you instead.

.

Jack takes the plunge at the Kingfisher Bay resort.

.

Another selfie on the sunloungers.

Jacks asleep so its time for a few more beers in peace!!!!

.

As Fraser Island is a World Heritage listed site there is lots to see. The planes are one of only two places in the world certified for beach operations.

.

Jack paddles on our 4x4 island day trip.

.

The wreck of the Maheno which ran ashore in 1935. It was being towed to Japan when a cyclone struck and snapped the tow chain. Unfortunately they had removed the rudders to part fund the trip so the ship drifted helplessly onto the beach ar Fraser.

Andrew's Dad would be jealous as we arrive for our tour of the Bundaberg Rum Distillers.

.

We might need reinforcements to drink this.

.

Unfortunately Karen had to drink all of Andrew's tasters as he was driving. What a pity!!

.

Olive says goodbye and asks if we can go to see the oil refinery now.

.

7000 kms in on the trip and Karen takes the wheel for the 1st time. Fortunately were all safe as she drives around the block of land were staying on.

.

Jack on the steam train at the Botanical Gardens.

.

Fun in the sun.

.

After the round Australia lawnmower encounter Jack finally gats to ride around the paddock (again and again and again!) as Ian and Eileen kindly let him use theirs. A useful aside was that we could use it as a bribe for him to be good for the week.

.

A  cane toad found living under the tarp near the van. There considered a pest as they were introduced from America to combat the cane beetle but decided that small native mammals were tastier instead.

As a pest we had to youthanise it after the picture was taken.

Only kidding Andrew used to keep them as a kid so didn't have the heart too.

.

Andrew bags another fish at the Bundaberg Port but ponders if there going to get any bigger soon.

.

Ian and Eileen kindly let us camp on their land for the week. We had our own power, toilet, shower washing machine and an acre paddock. And the lawnmower of course.

We didn't want to leave!!

A big thank you for having us.

.

Sunset over Bundaberg from Hummock Hill.

.

Were lucky enough to be invited by Dennis and Carole to stay at their house in Bundaberg. Jack made friends with their Grandaughter Ebony.

.

After saying goodbye in Canberra we say it again in Bundaberg.

Thank you so much for having us.

.

After a week in Bundaberg were on the road again heading for Townsville. See you there?
