View of the inlet and beach at 1770.

Such a cool name for a town and guess what? it's called 1770 because Capt James Cook stopped off for provisions in you guessed it 1770!

.

On the beach with Jack and the playground

.

Karen again surpassing herself getting up at dawn to snap this ghostly scene at the free camp in Calliope.

.

We stopped off for provisions and one of Jack's TV favourites was there, Shaun The Sheep.

.

Jack refused to have his photo taken with the real deal but managed the flyer as it looked more like the TV show.

Jack on the beach at Barra Crab campsite.

The campsite at Airlie beach was 2km outside the town and Karen snapped these two sunset pics on our way back from the pub (of course).

Waiting to board the boat for our day trip to Whitsunday's

Probably not the best idea before getting on a 20km boat trip but here goes. I would'nt give a XXXX for anything else, for those of you who remember the ad?

Jack in his new hat.

On the beach at the Whitsunday's. Incredible beach 98% silica, white sand and no stones or rocks. Paradise.

Selfie time.

Jack did'nt need much convincing that this was Capt Jack Sparrows ship.

A rare occasion, Andrew don's his shorts on the beach at Whitsunday's

Go Pro selfie

Karen has a Julie Andrews moment on the beach!

This ones for you Noel!! a Go Pro underwater EXTREME selfie.

This time there both at it but in swimsuits!!! The rest of the Von Trappe family were just along the beach.

Another 'Karen' sunset on the boat on the way back from Whitsunday's

When we got off the boat this fellow was swimming about in the harbour. 3/4 metre in diameter!!!

Were on the BIG trail yet again and this time it's a Mango.

Parts of 'Australia' was filmed here in Bowen which is no where near Darwin or the Northern Terrotry where the film is set. Cheats.

We can tell you Hollywood it is'nt.

Riding a serpent and in the stone man at Townsville.

The hats made a somewhat awkward 'Frenchie' at Kissing Point Fort.

I see no ships. That's probably because its a canon.

Jack with Castle Hill in the background.

When we got to Townsville the V8 Supercar racing was on.

Love and Peace as Herbie goes to Townsville.

View over Townsville from the top of Castle Hill

The Monster Truck Show was in town

Karen picked up some brochures in the Tourist Information Centre.

Baffle Creek, the Tin Man and Beer Can Collection 'A MUST SEE'.

They should be done under the trades description act!!!

Population of Baffle Creek?...............6.

As we head further North we encounter more Road Trains. They are 55 metres long and weigh 110 tonnes.

They also have right of way on the roads so if you don't pull over to let them pass, they go straight over the top of you!!!

Olive parked up at Porcupine Gorge, Australia's 'Little Grand Canyon'.

Now were in the outback the earth turns red.....just like the movies.

At the top of the gorge before we walk down to see 'Pyramid Rock' in the background.

We were told there were no crocodiles in the stream at the bottom of the gorge and there were a few guys from France swimming.

But would you risk it??

Pyramid rock and what will be the river bed in the wet season.

Jack with the Muttoburrosaurous in the Charters Towers museum.

'Mines a Jack'.

In the FJ Holden Cafe in Richmond.

We head to the famous Walkabout Creek Hotel to stay the night.

Andrew and Jack on the verranda..

A couple of the film props left behind in the carpark from the 'Never Never Tours Safari'

Karen takes in the memorabilia on the wall which included photos of the cast with the 'locals'

See below!!!

A Schooner of XXXX and a lemonade!

PRICELESS:

We walk into the Walkabout Creek Hotel and Jack (having never seen the film) takes his pirate sword in with him.

The guy in the background say's 'Thats Not A Knife, This Is A Knife' and produces the said item from the film.

This guy could have been cast in the original film without any makeup!!!

After a great night in the Walkabout Creek Hotel we head in the morning to Karumba to see Karen's parents, celebrate Jack's 4th birthday on the 30th July and hopefully catch some fish!

See You There??
