From Newcastle we headed some 60 km North West and stayed overnight in a free camp at Wingham. We arrived at dusk just as the Grey Headed friut bats were leaving the colony for the night to feed. There was hundreds of them and with a wing span of a metre they covered the night sky.

Karen got up early to take these beautiful pictures of the lake at the camp site

From Wingham we headed North East back to the coast and stayed in another free camp (you are supposed to pay but the ranger did not come around to collect the money.....all contributions gratefully recieved!)  overnight at Mungo Brush. This fellow came out of the woods for a visit. We had absolutely no idea what it was but the guys in the next van said it's a Quoll. It was the size of a small dog (think lassa Apso).

We headed up to Seal Rocks the next day to see the lighthouse. We had planned on a short visit on route to the next camp but it was so stunning we spent all day there.

The walk up to Sugar Loaf lighthouse passed  a double sea water inlet from both sides of the rocks creating a blowhole effect.

From the lighthouse. Views of the rocks to the left and beach on the right.

We were lucky to see our 1st two whales of the migration season (June - November) No pictures though as we were so excited to see them!

Jack.......All smiles at the lightouse, biking on the beach and sand castles.

Time for tea with a sausage and egg banjo for lunch.

Off next to Coffs Harbour via Port Macquarie.

Were on a roll with the wildlife, a Bats, Quoll, Whales and now dolphins at Port Macquarie beach but again no pics!!

Jack's car mat comes in handy for a makeshift rear curtain whilst repairs to the curtain track are underway!

Surely this is cheating? This is more like taking your house with you on tour. Nice set up though, were nearly jealous

We stayed 20km North of Coff's Harbour at Darlington Beach for 3 nights.

The weather starts to get warmer so Karen don's the 'Tilda Swintons' for the 'Beach'.

Views of Coff's Harbour

Jack on the Jumpy Pillow.

After the Big Merino at Canberra no trip to Coff's Harbour could be complete without a trip to the 'Big Banana'

One of the more interesting items in the gift shop 'Bad Banana'. We settled for a fridge magnet!!

What else after the Bad Banana, a chocolate coated one. Jack thinks it's funny anyway.

A less suggestive photo, Karen gets up early again to snap the sun rise at Darlington Beach.

Jack enjoy's his 1st Quasadilla. (Chicken and Cheese....and Tomato Ketchup!!)

Were off to Byron Bay next just over 200km North.

See You There?
